KPMG Organizational Statement KPMG Alumni in the UAE - Standard Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statement A.Standard Terms and Conditions Effective September 2014 KPMG's Alumni Program is specifically designed to facilitate communication among alumni for personal or KPMG-related purposes. The program can be accessed via the website of http://kpmguae.com/ (the “Website”). By becoming a member of KPMG’s Alumni Program or using this site you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. Eligibility Eligibility for membership is purely at the discretion of KPMG. KPMG reserves the right to decline a membership registration in its sole discretion. In general, membership is available to KPMG UAE alumni. Former KPMG staff from any member firm, located in the UAE are also eligible for the membership. However, KPMG reserves the right to restrict use of the Website by alumni working for companies that may be viewed as marketplace competitors. In this Terms and Conditions of Use, the term “alumni” is defined as former permanent employees/partners of KPMG, KPMG Peat Marwick, Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., Peat Marwick Taseer Hadi Khalid & Co. Former contractors and casuals are NOT eligible for membership. Collection and Usage of Information KPMG collects personally-identifiable information on certain areas of the Website, such as when users register for membership or sign up for Alumni activities. Such information may include but is not limited to: • Name • Commencement and leave date of KPMG employment • KPMG office location • Current employer • Email address. KPMG stores member’s information in an appropriate database and uses such information for business uses in accordance with the Privacy Statement. The information will also be displayed to other KPMG Alumni Program members through the Alumni directory search on the Website. Usage of Alumni Directory Members consent and agree that: • they will not abuse the directory search of KPMG's Alumni Program by extracting names or other alumni information and use such information for any commercial, religious or political purpose or for any other unsociable form of contact • they are making their personally-identifiable information available to KPMG by uploading such information during the Alumni registration and when signing up for Alumni activities • KPMG may store their personally-identifiable information in an appropriate database for business uses (in accordance with the Privacy Statement) • KPMG’s Alumni Program may display their personally-identifiable information to other KPMG Alumni Program members through the Alumni directory search on the Website • in no event shall they hold KPMG liable for any damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, resulting from the use of or inability to use information or materials available on the Website • they will notify KPMG via AE-FMAlumni@kpmg.com if they do not wish to be included on the alumni directory (an option which is also available on the registration page of the Website) Usage of Images Alumni members consent to KPMG using images, which may include but are not limited to photos, audios and videos, of them participating in Alumni activities to promote the KPMG Alumni Program and its activities. Modification or Discontinuation of Service KPMG reserves the right to terminate any user's account without prior notice if KPMG, in its sole discretion, believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of this Terms and Conditions of Use or that you have violated the rights of KPMG or any other party through your use of KPMG's Alumni Program. The service is being provided at KPMG's discretion, and KPMG reserves the right to modify or discontinue the service, either temporarily or permanently, at its sole discretion and with or without notice to you, without liability to any user or any third party. KPMG is not liable for any loss or corruption of data provided by members. However, if this is discovered please immediately forward details of such an event to AE-FMAlumni@kpmg.com. Members’ Responsibilities Members agree to supply accurate and current information where required, and are responsible for keeping this information up-to-date. Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their Alumni log-in passwords. Members are responsible for all uses of their accounts, whether or not authorised by themselves. Members agree to immediately notify KPMG of any unauthorised use of their accounts.
